Thermal imaging camera loans

Covid-19 Safety Arrangements

Where possible we plan to carry on lending our thermal imaging cameras throughout the winter months.  Our loan scheme is a non-essential click-and-collect service, currently permissible under the Government guidelines for the national lockdown.  We believe our loan scheme is low risk, with all camera pick-up and drop-offs taking place outside with social distancing and sanitising protocols in place.

Safety protocols

To ensure our loan scheme is Covid secure we have streamlined bookings. Cameras can now be reserved online using the calendars below. You’ll receive a confirmation email when your booking has been approved. Bookings for each camera are limited to two per week:

We are asking all borrowers to:

  • Social distance, standing back when the host puts the camera bag down for pick up; and reciprocating when returning it
  • Wipe down the camera and other items in the bag (and its zip-puller) with the provided alcohol wipes – both when unpacking the bag and before returning it
  • Not allow anyone else to handle the camera
  • Let us know ASAP if they have Covid symptoms or test positive while borrowing a camera
  • Report any Covid safety concerns
  • Pick up and return cameras at the above times, to allow at least 24 hours between loans
  • Keep collection & return journeys short and, if possible, part of essential travel or of your exercise during periods of lockdown

To make cleaning easier we have removed excess items from the camera bag. The ‘Record of Survey’ booklet for borrowers to summarise their survey(s) is now online. This, and other documents including the camera manual and fluke software are available for download in the Resources section at the bottom of our Thermal Imaging page.

Bookings are either Tuesday-Thursday, or Friday-Monday.

All bookings are subject to approval. If you do not receive an email confirming your booking within 48 hours, or if you have any queries or concerns please email ticamera@cambridgecarbonfootprint.org, or phone the CCF office on 01223 301842.
