UK Green Film Festival

Back for its second year, the UK Green Film Festival is the UK’s annual environmental film festival. Over a single weekend, up and down the country, the festival screens some of the very best films out there, from around the world, exploring some of the big environmental issues of the day.

Here at Cambridge the Arts Picturehouse three films were screened including In Transition 2.0, Taste the Waste, and Happy.

CCF organised a post-film discussion for the sold-out screening of Happy, a highly-praised film that explores what really matters to us and what really makes us happy. It was a rallying cry to those who are concerned about over-consumption and the ever-increasing materialism of our times. Our post-film panel included the talents of:

Professor Felicia Huppert, Founding Director of the Well-Being Institute at the University of Cambridge,

Dr. Candice Howarth, Research Fellow at the Global Sustainability Institute at Anglia Ruskin University,

Ben Irvine, editor of Cycle Lifestyle magazine and founder of Oldspeak Publishing.

A big thank-you to the panelists and to the Arts Picturehouse for their assistance in making this happen!
