Sat 18 Apr 2026, 2:00pm – 5:00pm
Bring your broken household item and a skilled volunteer will help you fix it at the Histon and Impington Repair Cafe! We can take a wide variety of repairs to household and garden appliances, whether mechanical, electrical or electronic, including sewing machines, mowers, Mac and PC laptop and desktop computers – along with tool sharpening and repairs to jewellery, clothing, textiles, furniture and ceramics – almost anything you can carry, in fact. We like to show you how we do it, so that if it happens again, you might be able to do it yourself.
Also, if you have a computer still running Windows 10 or an older operating system and would like to discuss your options going forwards, we will be offering an interactive presentation explaining the alternatives and how we might be able to assist. We may also be able to help with upgrades on the day. Please email us at this address and we will be in contact prior to the repair cafe: histonrepaircafe@gmail.com
This community initiative, run by HI Sustainability jointly with Histon Baptist and St Andrew’s Histon Eco Church Groups, will be run on Saturday 18th April, from 2pm to 5pm. It is a free event, with donations welcome on the day.
Location: Histon Baptist Church, Station Road, Histon, CB24 9LQ
Booking: Please note that we are now fully booked for repairs, though we can still take those wishing to discuss their Windows 10 computers (see above).
We may be able to accommodate some walk-ins on the day provided you are prepared to wait for a slot, but only one item per person, please.
A cafe serving drinks and home-made cakes and other goodies will be available.
Cycle parking is available in front of the venue. The number 8 bus stops outside, and the guided bus is less than 10 minutes walk away. There is a car park adjacent and on street parking is also available. The venue is wheelchair accessible with disabled toilet facilities.
Our cafe is run in partnership with Cambridge Carbon Footprint and insured by Wessex Insurance. For more information on upcoming Repair Cafes in Cambridgeshire please visit: cambridgecarbonfootprint.org/repair-cafes
