Anxiety to Action – two short films and a panel discussion chaired by BBC presenter Tom Heap

Wed 26 Mar 2025, 6:30pm – 9:00pm

Anxiety to Action – the start of our journey to a flourishing world

Join us for ‘Climate Anxiety’ and ‘Bats, Bottles and Butterflies’ – two fantastic, locally made short films followed by a panel discussion chaired by BBC presenter Tom Heap of ‘Rare Earth’ and ‘Countryfile’. Part of the 2025 Cambridge Festival.

‘Climate Anxiety’ and ‘Bats, Bottles & Butterflies’ are short films made by Cambridge Moviemakers. They explore young people’s worries about climate change, what local schools are doing to address the environmental crisis, and how action is an antidote to anxiety. A panel of experts and young people, chaired by leading environmental presenter Tom Heap will discuss issues raised by the films with the audience. Young people who participated in the films will have an exhibition and discuss their environmental activities before and after the main event.

6:30pm – arrive and browse exhibitions from Parkside Community College & Comberton Village College.

7:00 – 8:30pm films with panel discussion and Q&A

8:30 – 9pm another opportunity to see the exhibition and chat with fellow guests/panel members

9pm – close

This is a free event and the film is classified a PG. All are welcome, we’d recommend this evening for young people of secondary school age and above.
