We are delighted to be welcoming speakers from the Centre for Alternative Technology to talk about CAT’s groundbreaking ZeroCarbonBritain2030 report, in which a team of distinguished academics and researchers show how Britain could eliminate emissions from fossil fuels within 20 years and break our dependence on imported energy.

Godfrey Boyle is Professor of Renewable Energy and director of the Energy and Environment Research Unit at the UK Open University. He is also a visiting professor at The Energy and Resource Institute (TERI) University in New Dehli,India. His main research interests are in renewable energy, particularly wind and solar power, energy systems modelling and energy policy. He is author/co-author/editor of “Renewable Electricity and the Grid”(Earthscan 2009), “Renewable Energy” (Oxford, 2004) and “Energy Systems and Sustainability” (Oxford 2003).

Alex Randall is Media Officer at the Centre for Alternative Technology in Machynlleth and was part of the ZeroCarbonBritain2030 team. He has worked on other climate and environment projects including CheatNeutral, a satirical film about carbon trading and UNFairPlay, an organisation that supports small island states at UN climate change negotiations.
