Cambridge Carbon Footprint is looking for a Co-ordinator
to be at the hub of this lively organisation, co-ordinating its activities and managing our office and administration.

3 days per week, £19,500 pa pro rata (ie: £11,700).

Contract: One year, renewable subject to availability of funding.

Cambridge Carbon Footprint is a very active charity concerned with climate change.
We help people work together creatively to make real reductions in their CO2 emissions.

2 part-time paid staff, with support from Trustees and many other volunteers (149 last year) collaborate on our projects, events, publicity, etc. The work of the staff is essential to coordinate and support volunteers and to keep us organised and effective.

Open Eco Homes, a CCF project is in its third year and we originated Carbon Conversations, now run by groups nationwide, including us.

As Coordinator, you would:

  • manage and develop our office and its administrative systems
  • keep an overview of all our projects, putting the right people in touch
  • collate and keep records of all our projects and events, highlighting problems
  • respond to enquiries or field them appropriately

A full job description will be available to short-listed candidates.

You would take over most of the work of our current Coordinator, Mary Geddes, who is leaving after more than 2 years, as she wants to catch up with her own work and come to CCF events without a work hat on. She’s offered to continue with our book-keeping and payments, as a volunteer, and would eventually train you or another successor in this.

You would work alongside our Volunteer & Events Organiser, Stephanie Ferguson and cover her work appropriately, when she’s away. She joined in December and is doing a brilliant job involving and supporting more volunteers and arranging and delivering events with them.

You can expect admin support from a volunteer, who you would maange – currently the efficient Sally Fenn is volunteering 1½ days a week for this, but as she plans to do less in late May, you would probably be with her successor.

Bev Sedley would be your line manager. She’s one of our Trustees, who, between them, steer the organisation and manage most of our projects.
