Six Inches of Soil is a British independent full feature documentary telling the inspiring story of young British farmers standing up against the industrial food system and transforming the way they produce food – to heal the soil, our health and provide for local communities. The aims of the film are to sound the alarm on a broken system, but to also give hope that there is a way to fix it; to inspire farmers to adopt agroecological and regenerative farming practices; and to encourage consumers, food corporations and policymakers to support their efforts. This free screening is being organised by Histon and Impington Sustainability Group, St Andrew’s Eco Church and Cambridge Carbon Footprint and is part of Histon’s Feast Week. The screening of ‘Six Inches of Soil’ will be followed by a panel discussion featuring Cambridgeshire based Producer Claire Mackenzie and one of the main featured farmers, Adrienne, who actually attended the local schools growing up so is thrilled to be returning in this capacity.
There will be refreshments provided by the local Brownies at the start of the evening and after the film and Q&A there will be a chance to mingle and natter with fellow audience members and engage with local environmental organisations.
The event is free but we would be grateful for donations.
