How to run a Repair Cafe in your community

Thu 24 Jul 2025, 6:00pm – 7:00pm

A free, in person session for anyone who would like to run a Repair Cafe in their community. Cambridgeshire is recognised as a UK hub for Repair Cafes, and we have a strong team that supports new groups and individuals who’d like to have a go at setting one up. Repair Cafes keep resources out of landfill, avoid greenhouse gas emissions, and are brilliant community building events. The feedback from visitors is almost 100% positive and the organisers tend to find it really rewarding too.

This training is for people who are interested in setting up a Repair Cafe in Cambridgeshire. Running a Repair Cafe is hugely rewarding, but quite an undertaking. We recommend that you visit a Repair Cafe before the training session to check whether it’s for you. If you decide to go ahead, the next step is to form a local team. Feel free to bring other’s from your team along to the training (please ask them to sign up separately) and direct any local repairers to our “Repair with us” page.

During the training we will introduce you to how Repair Cafes are organised, the support we can offer you and answer any questions you may have. We cover venue, publicity, safety, insurance, recruiting volunteers and repairers.

This training session is now full. Please sign up here to informed of future training sessions.
