Behaviour change is currently a key government policy for dealing with climate change. In this talk Rosemary Randall will discuss the rationale for behaviour change policies, present some key criticisms of the approach and offer an alternative psychological model for engaging people in change.
Rosemary Randall is a psychotherapist. She was co-founder of Cambridge Carbon Footprint <http://www.cambridgecarbonfootprint.org/> and formerly its Director. She writes and lectures widely on the psychology of climate change and is the creator of the Carbon Conversations <http://carbonconversations.org> project and author of the Carbon Conversations handbook. She is currently working with COIN <http://coinet.org.uk/> on the development of Carbon Conversations, and on a number of other psychologically based climate change projects with Common Cause <http://valuesandframes.org> and with the Climate Psychology Alliance.
