The H&I Eco Fest and 30 Day Challenge kicks off at midday at the Histon Baptist Church on Sat 10th June. This village-wide event and is shaping up beautifully. This Fest is being organised for local people looking to take either small or large steps to help build a fairer and greener future that’ll benefit both people and nature.
Join us for:
  • Talks from the British Antarctic Survey, Shepreth Wildlife Park’s conservation team and HI Trees. Chaired by Cllr Pippa Heylings.
  • Free rickshaw rides and family friendly eco-crafts
  • Free clothing and bike repairs
  • Short films
  • Advice stalls on home energy, planet friendly diets, travel and reducing your consumption and waste
  • Free carbon footprint measuring from a professional energy consultant followed by individually tailored advice
  • Inspiration and ideas on how to support our local wildlife from bee-keepers, Hedgehog Gardens, Abbey Fields and local school children.
  • A mini eco-market and refreshments
More information to follow about the 30 Day Challenge but it’ll include a chance to visit existing local eco-homes, a talk on greening your business/organisation, a fascinating guided tour of the recycling facility at Waterbeach and lots of practical ideas on helping local wildlife.
