Eco-renovating for Retirement – Arbury Road

Sat 16 Sep 2023, – Sat 23 Sep 2023, Various

Meet your host, Tom and Gill

Join Gill and Tom to learn about their eco renovation journey! With a vision to transform their detached 1950s house into a comfortable, low energy home within which to happily retire, Gill and Tom have spent over 15 years thoughtfully renovating their home, shrinking their energy bills and solving many issues along the way. Come along and find out how they did it.

Tom says: “Despite the draconian rise in energy prices, it feels as though we don’t need to worry as much as we would have done if we hadn’t installed the pv and batteries. Additionally, the monitoring app that works with the batteries allows very accurate monitoring of power usage, permitting choices about when to use appliances most economically. And it feels good to know that we are minimising as far as possible our use of fossil-fuel generated power.
