An extra special filmed Repair Cafe at Makespace

Wed 15 Sep 2021, 5:00pm – 8:00pm

ITV is making a half-hour documentary featuring Cambridge Repair Café for their nationally broadcast ‘ITV Tonight’ documentary series. Please join us to see an experienced repairer with your broken items at the brilliant city centre community workshop, Makespace.

The Repair Café will run as a regular event and the team making the programme will be focussing on the environmental benefits of repair and the ‘Right to Repair’ campaign that wants more people to be able to affordably fix more stuff. Because ITV will be filming and looking to talk to people, this Café is only suitable for those happy to possibly appear on screen. They’ll only interview a few people but you may be ‘in shot’.

To have your item seen by our repair team it’s essential to book it in by following this booking link. We will see most household items but would especially like you to bring electricals and electronics. We do also have two fantastic sewers with us so please do book in any torn, worn or ill-fitting garments. There’ll be an opportunity to get your footprint measured using CCF’s new calculator and learn about repurposing with Dimitra too.

This event is free to attend though donations are gratefully received. Face-coverings will need to be worn inside. There is no car parking at this city centre venue.  Hope to see you there, screening is scheduled for 7th Oct.
