Mayoral Hustings on Environment, Climate Change and Sustainability

31 March 2017 - 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm

Mayoral Hustings on Environment, Climate Change and Sustainability

Do you wish politicians would listen to your views on the environment, climate change and sustainability? Not sure how (or whether) to vote in our newly devolved region’s Mayoral Election in May 2017?

Do you want cleaner air? Better, cheaper trains and busses? More energy efficient homes? More abundant nature? More action to prevent climate change? These are all questions on which the Mayor and the new combined authority will have a big say, because they will be responsible for housing and transport, and will have a big budget.

Come to this free event and put your questions to the leading Mayoral candidates, with Dr Aled Jones in the chair to ensure fair play and a good debate.

Conservative: James Palmer
English Democrat: Stephen Goldspink
Green: Julie Howell TBC
Independent: Peter Dawe
Labour: Kevin Price
Lib Dem: Rod Cantrill

Chair: Dr Aled Jones, Global Sustainability Institute, Anglia Ruskin University

Doors open 17:30, Hustings starts 18:00. After the formal event there will be time for further informal discussions, and a group is likely to go to the pub for a meal afterwards.

This event is organised by Cambridge Carbon Footprint and Anglia Ruskin University
