This event launches the practical help programme for organisations in the Cambridge area addressing climate change. It is organised by Cambridge Climate Change Charter, and details can be found on their website. Entrance is free, but you are asked to register beforehand.

Martin Harper tells a full room about the Copenhagen Cimate Change Conference
Martin Harper, chair of the Stop Climate Chaos Coalition Planning Group and Head of Sustainable Development at the RSPB, gave a clear and motivating overview of the Copenhagen Climate Change Conference. He highlighted how important it is to make it politically desirable for government to take a strong stand in December and urged everyone to find a way to join in, especially by going to The Wave on 5 December. How to turn your green idea into a social enterprise or commercial business.
This half-day workshop is for people who are unemployed or underemployed (eg recent graduates unable to find an appropriate job), who have an idea for a way to make the world a slightly better place and want to explore entrepreneurial ways to make it real.
Programme
- From seed idea to great idea. Participative session run by Anne Miller of the Creativity Partnership
- Choosing the right vehicle – social enterprise or commercial business? Session run by George Ruddock of Citylife.
Venue: Arbury Community Centre (in the large hall), Campkin Road, Cambridge CB4 2LD

All participants should come prepared to discuss and build on their “Green idea”.

About the presenters
Anne Miller is Director of the Creativity Partnership where she helps organisations and individuals get value from their creativity. She is also a board member of the Stop Climate Chaos coalition, and author of the acclaimed book, How to get your ideas adopted (and change the world).
George Ruddock is Social Business Advisor at Citylife, the Cambridge based provider of social enterprise support and affordable space. George has set up and run social enterprises including in IT recycling, and is a trainer/accreditor for the Small Firms Enterprise Development Initiative.
