Akashi Festival 2009
We have started work on the next Akashi Festival. We have secured the first tranche of funding from APE, Artists Project Earth and are now looking for the other 75% to put on our celebration in 2009.
Anyone who came to the Akashi festival will know that it was a wonderful success – over 350 people enjoying an incredible afternoon of multi-cultural climate-change workshops and stalls. Dance, meditation, singing, cycling, face-painting, conversation circles, foot-printing, composting, food and more…
Thank you to project worker Shilpa Shah and everyone who took part and helped.
Some pictures are up on the Akashi website.
From the work done in creating the festival Shilpa has created the “One World – Many Voices” exhibition, which you can see at many of our events over the summer or check out and even down load from the Akashi web-site.
For the 2007 Festival we received a grant from the Lottery Fund to put on the festival as culmination of the Akashi Project and to take the exhibition to other venues around the region.
