Trustees

Cambridge Carbon Footprint’s trustees jointly steer the charity’s strategy and policy. Most of us have other CCF roles, depending on our skills, interests and availability.

Sandy Chidley

Chair

Sandy joined CCF as a trustee in 2023 after relocating to Cambridge from London two years prior. His background is in social research and policy evaluation within the public and voluntary sectors and he currently works as a consultant for the National Council for Voluntary Organisations (NCVO). He has a keen interest in supporting individuals and communities to move towards low-carbon lifestyles in an ethical and equitable way.

William McVey

Treasurer

William has been involved with CCF as an Open Eco Homes host. He's now retired following many years working as an accountant in the not-for-profit sector. He spent 13 years as the accountant at Darwin College in the University of Cambridge.

Shaun Lindsay

Shaun became involved with CCF in 2017 by becoming an Eco Home host having retrofitted his whole home and now saving about 11Mw of energy a year. Originally an engineer and having worked in the technology industry for over 35 years, primarily working with University IT systems. He now works for a local housing charity and is keen to combine his skills and knowledge to help others further through CCF.

Libby Peachey

Libby joined CCF as a trustee in 2019. She has worked in research administration at the University for several years. She has been involved in the planning and management of several research projects with an environmental focus and recently completed an environmental studies programme with the Open University.

Heather Plumpton

Heather joined CCF as a trustee in 2022. She has a background in environmental science, policy and politics and currently works as a policy analyst for an environmental think tank. Having volunteered with CCF as a student during her degree, she is now back living in Cambridge again and keen to help support and empower people locally to take action on climate change in their daily lives.

Nicole Dang

Nicole became a Trustee in 2019. Having spent a decade in the legal sector as a linguist, Nicole recently re-trained as a Research Psychologist. She is a keen Eco-Minimalist & completed a whole-house retrofit on her own home in 2016, thereby reducing her home energy use by an estimated 70%.

Iain Smith

Iain became a Trustee in 2022. He is a retired physicist/engineer very interested in energy efficiency and is on his way to making his house as low carbon as possible. CCF has been a source of inspiration and Iain is making use of a number of services/ideas. He has experience in trustee-like roles and is keen to assist in CCF’s mission.

Kirsten Newble

Kirsten joined CCF as a Trustee in 2023. She has experience in marketing communications and spent 2023 as a Boardroom Apprentice with Natural England. She has a broad background having studied Biology, Industrial Design and an MBA. Kirsten learned about CCF when borrowing a thermal imaging camera that enabled her to retrofit her home to reduce its carbon impact. She is keen to help others through CCF.

Edward Coulman-Cook

Edward joined CCF as a trustee in 2023. He has a wealth of financial experience in the non-profit sector and a passion for environmental sustainability. He wanted to bring these together and was introduced to CCF, where he is keen to help continue their mission and raise awareness to its cause.

Our Staff

The Cambridge Carbon Footprint staff are responsible for the day-to-day running of the charity.

Nicole Barton

Volunteer and Events Organiser

Nicole Barton joined Cambridge Carbon Footprint in January 2014. Nicole has significant experience working in the not for profit sector engaging volunteers and supporters and organising events both big and small.

Sandy Skelton

Cambridgeshire Repair Cafe Network Co-ordinator

Sandy has an academic background looking at demand-side responses to climate change. She joined CCF in 2022, and is enjoying getting stuck in to the practical aspects of living more sustainably in Cambridge.

Alana Sinclair

Manager

Alana Sinclair joined Cambridge Carbon Footprint in November 2012 having already volunteered in the CCF office. Before moving to Cambridge she worked with Waste Watch engaging the public in food waste recycling, and studied a Masters of Sustainability in her native Australia.

Fran Sutton

Home Energy Officer

Fran has been Open Eco Home host since 2017. She has experience in working in the charitable sector, organising events and project management. She hopes to work to expand access to information and resources to help everyone improve their home energy. ​

Alice Vodden

Net Zero Now Co-ordinator

Alice has a Masters degree in Climate Change and International Development and experience working for government agencies, national charities and other environmental organisations. Alice got involved with CCF in 2017, starting as an Events Volunteer. Alice is currently working on Net Zero Now.
